Equal sharing

Concept of fractions was introduced to the children with an activity on equal sharing wherein various objects such as counters , blocks were given to the children and they shared those objects equally among themselves. It allows children to visualize how fractions work in a concrete way, making the abstract concept of fractions more accessible and understandable. Kids begin to understand how fractions are used in everyday life, whether it's dividing a snack with friends, sharing toys, or distributing materials. This creates connections between math and the world around them. A strong understanding of basic fractions, especially through activities like equal sharing, forms the foundation for more advanced mathematical concepts like equivalent fractions, addition, and subtraction of fractions.
