Right angle scavenger hunt

Children were taken to the school ground where they searched for right angles in their surroundings. They were divided in groups. Each group found out one right angle. It was a fun activity where children found out right angles in poles, swings, bricks, tiles, leaves. 

3D shapes group session

 Different 3D shapes such as cube, cuboid, cylinder, cone and sphere were given to the kids. They looked at the shapes and discussed it’s properties such as faces, edges, vertices.  

2D shape seekers expedition

 Shape hunt activity was done in the class where each child searched for the shapes found in the class. For example triangle, square, rectangle, circle. They touched the objects. Activity was done to rejuvenate the children after summer vacations and have some fun time in the class. 

2D shape relay

 Children were given 4 shapes triangle, square, rectangle and circle. One group was given 4 paper glasses labelled each shape and other group was given 4 ice - cream sticks labelled each shape. Ice-cream sticks had to reach to the paper glasses group as per their respective shape. Children enjoyed the activity and it was more of a rejuvenated activity after summer vacation.

Thick and Thin (Clay dough activity)

 Incorporating thick and thin clay activities into the kindergarten curriculum supports a wide range of developmental goals and provides a fun, hands-on learning experience for young children. Children were given clay pressed onto thicker clay bases. Clay activities, specifically those involving the concepts of thick and thin, can help children develop fine motor skills, understand basic concepts of measurement and proportion, and foster creativity.
